Programs and Activities

Historic New Carlisle, Inc. strives to provide fun and educational activities and events throughout the year. These include our Tree Reforestation Project which is held the last Saturday in April. Volunteers help plant 5-6 trees in New Carlisle tree lawns. Since the program began, over 50 trees have been planted adding shade and beauty to our town.

Volunteers plant young maples in tree lawns.

HNC, Inc. also holds an annual Historic Preservation Awards program to recognize community preservation efforts. The awards are held in May in recognition of Historic Preservation month. The summer months bring many activities including "Our Town: Architecture Camp" which is a two-day camp for kids ages 9-12. The kids go on a walking tour of New Carlisle’s downtown and residential area and learn about the various architectural styles and types as well as learning about the history of the buildings. Kids look at pictures of what the town looked like before and see the changes that have taken place over the years. Hands-on crafts and activities are also part of the camp.

We host an annual N.C.H.S. Alumni Open House for attendees and graduates of the old New Carlisle High School. The open house is held on the Friday evening of Hometown Days weekend and is a chance for fellow classmates get together and reminisce. HNC, Inc. has old N.C.H.S. yearbooks, photos, trophies and other memorabilia from the school that always helps to bring those old memories back.
Holiday events include Breakfast and Brunch with Santa during Christmas in New Carlisle weekend and Bunny Breakfast and Brunch for Easter.
