Would You Like to Take a Trip Back in Time?
Now at the Historic New Carlisle, Inc. Local History Museum, you can go back in time! From decades of music and dancing to the 30-room hotel and casino that once occupied the area, come explore Hudson Lake in its heyday through postcards and photographs as part of the Hudson Lake Remembered exhibit.
Imagine lifting the brim of your hat to see dappled golden sunlight on the surface of the Hudson Lake. A light breeze sweeps across the surface, and on the air the dreamy notes of a slow, steady waltz pour out from the band. Itís the 1890ís in a growing resort town on the outskirts of New Carlisle. Fast forward to the roaring 20ís. The rhythm of the waltz quickens to toe-tapping trumpet beats and the steady pounding of drums. The Charleston is the hottest step and that same lakeside community is now a thriving destination for Chicagoans to make a getaway.
Come enjoy this exciting exhibit on display at the HNC Local History Museum!
